Hey! it's been a while since the last time i posted something
i seriously have so much to tell, but like i've said a thousand times before, I am not good at pouring my minds into words:/
so here we go.......
My little brother just got himself a goldfish and put it in a bowl (you know that kind of typical bowl where people put a goldfish there) and last night, i kept staring at it--the bowl and the fish inside--the fish, until now, keeps on swimming back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. It got me wondered, how does it feel to be like that fish? your spaces and places are limited. Your world is only inside your bowl. Limited. No freedom. Just the same old activity everyday. What if we all live in that kind of place, a place where everything is limited and there are walls and gates wherever you go. You can do nothing but to stay in where you are right now.
I seriously pity the goldfish. He (i figured out that the goldfish is a boy!!) should be swimming freely in the ocean, with his family and friends. Having fun with the turtles and another fish. But no, he's stuck in one place. He can only swim in circle everyday with fake colorful pebbles inside his bowl. Maybe the reason why they put those pebbles is to make the fish become happier because it supposed to remind the fish of the pebbles from the ocean or something like that. And its stupid. Really. The pebbles from the ocean are not as bright and colorful as those fake pebbles.
But the thing is, animals and fish don't have a feeling--yes they could feel pain and maybe love toward their family but that's all--they do not know the feeling of being trapped inside and all locked up, they do not know the meaning of freedom. As long as they have food, they're happy.
But then again, there're goldfish that jump out from their bowl. Maybe it's because they're tired... tired of swimming around and around and around and they finally have enough, maybe they're sick of the same food over and over again, maybe they thought that being died is better than living in the bowl forever, so they just jump out and dead. As simple as that.
i can't stop imagine if i were a goldfish. Just the thought of being all locked up makes me sick. What if you're not allowed to leave your house forever? What if you're stuck inside your room forever? what if what if what if.....
Freedom is a thing that everyone has to have. We all need freedom. Not only freedom to go to the places we want, but every kind of freedom. Freedom to chose, to state our opinion, to be what we want to be. But now, it's hard to be what we want to be. People keep on telling us what to do, whats right and whats wrong and that we should do that, we shouldn't do that and everything, keeping us all trapped inside our own heart, our own imaginary bowl. And if someone can't break his/her own imaginary bowl, they would jump out of it, just like the fish. They eventually will be tired of having to live with other's expectations, so they just give up. They jump out and dead. As simple as that.
